MARCH 13: AN AUDIENCE WITH…

An Audience With Prof Kate Cherrell

Do you know your Black Shuck from your Tom Otter? Can you tell your bewitched farmhouse from your cursed road? Lincolnshire is a county rich with folkloric history, curious stories and strange superstitions. This light-hearted talk offers a tour of our county’s most fascinating traditional tales.  After the talk, Dr. Cherrell will participate in a Q&A session, with questions from the audience.

Dr. Kate Cherrell is an accomplished writer and broadcaster and an expert on paranormal history, 19th-century Spiritualism, and the traditions of British folklore. Her gothic novel Begotten was published in 2025, and a non-fiction study, Memorials to the Dead, will be published in 2026. She has written extensively on supernatural history and has collaborated with museums and cemetery trusts across the UK. As a paranormal historian, she has appeared on many television programmes, including Haunted Homecoming alongside Jack Osbourne and Jonathan Ross, Unexplained: Caught on Camera, and The Yorkshire Exorcist II. She has also acted as a historical consultant on Paranormal: Britain’s Last Witch, Weird Britain, and Spectre or Spectacle.
